Dr. Valéria Kheir graduated in medicine from the University of Geneva and completed her specialization in ophthalmology at the Jules-Gonin Eye Hospital and the CHUV, where she obtained her FMH in ophthalmology. She then served as a senior registrar (cheffe de clinique) in Geneva, where she also trained in ophthalmic surgery.

Following an 18-month surgical fellowship in Canada, where she specialized in glaucoma, she earned her FMH in ophthalmic surgery. Her surgical practice focuses on glaucoma surgery, cataract procedures, refractive surgery, and minor eyelid lesion treatments. Passionate about pediatric ophthalmology, she works closely with her orthoptist to ensure high-quality care and follow-up for children. Dr. Kheir is especially appreciated for her gentle approach and natural ease with young patients.

Since 2023, she has taken over Dr. Petrovic's practice, where she continues to welcome her patients with kindness, respect, and professionalism. She is currently accepting new patients as well as urgent cases.

Dr Hammer is a consultant ophthalmologist specialising in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery. He consults at the Cornavin practice one day per month, offering patients high-level expertise in the management of complex ocular conditions.

In parallel, he works as a Senior Consultant in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery at Swiss Visio Montchoisi in Lausanne, where he is actively involved in the training of residents and senior registrars.

A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Geneva, Dr Hammer holds a Doctorate in Medical Sciences (MD-PhD). He completed his ophthalmic surgical training at the Jules-Gonin Eye Hospital, followed by advanced subspecialty training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London within the cornea and refractive surgery department.

In his clinical practice, he places particular emphasis on diagnostic accuracy, quality of follow-up and a doctor–patient relationship based on attentive listening and trust.

Aurélien de Lagane graduated from the University of Paris-Saclay, where he developed extensive expertise in optometry and visual health.

Following two years of experience in ophthalmology practices in Belgium and Luxembourg, he gained advanced skills in vision analysis and the management of visual disorders.

His areas of specialization include vision assessment and contact lens fitting, ranging from standard soft and rigid lenses to more advanced solutions such as orthokeratology and scleral lenses.

Aurélien de Lagane is a dedicated professional, committed to providing the best possible solutions to enhance his patients’ visual comfort and eye health.

Léa Martinez is a graduate in orthoptics from the University of Toulouse, where she gained solid experience working for four years in a well-regarded ophthalmology practice in Toulouse.

Since 2023, she has been part of Dr. Kheir’s team in Geneva, where she applies her skills in diagnosing and treating visual disorders in both children and adults.

Specializing in the screening and management of ocular motility disorders, she treats conditions such as amblyopia, strabismus, and more complex cases of diplopia, including prism adaptations.

She also provides orthoptic rehabilitation, particularly neuro-visual training for children with learning difficulties.

Léa is an attentive and dedicated professional, offering personalized care to each patient.

Récemment diplômée d’une formation de secrétaire médicale, Marine Bras a rejoint l’équipe de la Dre Kheir au Cabinet d’Ophtalmologie Cornavin en 2025.

She provides a warm and professional welcome while ensuring the smooth coordination of the patient journey. From appointment scheduling to administrative file management, she plays a key role in the day-to-day organisation of the practice.

Marine also performs certain basic ophthalmic examinations, contributing to the quality and efficiency of the diagnostic process. Empathetic, organised and versatile, she works closely with the medical team to deliver personalised, seamless and high-quality patient care.

Graduated in 2025 as a medical secretary, Sahra Franco joined Dr Kheir’s team at the Cornavin Ophthalmology Practice in the same year.

She provides a warm and professional welcome and ensures the smooth coordination of each step of the patient journey. From appointment scheduling to the complete administrative management of medical records, she plays an essential role in the organisation of the practice.

Sahra also performs several basic ophthalmic examinations and prepares patients prior to consultations, directly contributing to the quality of the diagnostic process.

Meticulous, empathetic and highly service-oriented, she works closely with Dr Kheir and the medical team to ensure personalised, seamless and high-quality patient care.
